Successful internships offer students practical experience in their field, an opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge to work and help can build a professional network.  Engineering & Design students have found internships and employment across many different fields in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.   Some companies that have consistently hired students for internships and employment include Alpha, Boeing, Fluke, General ElectricJanicki, San Juan SoftwareNike, PACAAR, R & D Plastics, Milwaukee ToolSpaceX, TeslaTeague, and Safran.

Employer Presentations - Outside the Lab

Our department hosts employer talks to help students become aware of opportunities for internships and employment after graduation.  These events also allow opportunities for networking with professionals and information sharing about careers.

Employer Highlight

WWU has equipped SpaceX with 30 engineers since 2010 from the Plastics & Composites Engineering, Industrial Technology - Vehicle Design, and Manufacturing Engineering programs. Alumni have worked on projects such as manufacturing process design/validation of rocket assembly, new product development, composite tooling design, and structural flight hardware design.
